‘New Orleans Restaurants’ list of New Orleans restaurants to try after Hurricane Irma
NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans restaurant industry is in for a long night.
On Thursday, the city and its restaurant industry leaders announced plans to shut down the city’s largest restaurant chains and the majority of the city is set to be shuttered by the end of the month.
The restaurants that will remain open will be the ones that are the oldest and most-respected, according to a statement from the city.
New Orleans restaurants will close as of January 2.
The list of restaurants that can reopen includes restaurants owned by the city government, businesses owned by a group of private companies, and small, independent businesses that are not affiliated with the city or the city, according the statement.
These businesses include independent boutiques, independent restaurants, bakeries, and restaurants owned and operated by independent business owners.
“We have been in constant communication with the restaurant industry to work with them to develop a plan to make this happen,” Mayor Mitch Landrieu said in a statement.
“The plan is a tough one, and we have taken that hard look and are working to craft a plan that protects the people of New Orlesian.”
The restaurants in question will be allowed to reopen on Jan. 2, the statement said.
It said the city will also offer its help to help the businesses transition to a new model.
The New Orleanians Restaurant Association and the New Orleans Restaurant Association of America also have a list of more than 200 restaurants that are expected to reopen, according a statement by the groups.
Many of the restaurants that were shuttered will be reopened, the announcement said.
In New Orleans, restaurants must close for a variety of reasons including the arrival of Hurricane Irma.
Among the restaurants shuttered is The French Quarter restaurant chain, which had been owned by Michael and Marlisa DeBerry, who own the restaurant chain and are in the process of selling the company.
According to a report in The New Orleans Times-Picayune, the DeBarges have not been able to find an owner for the restaurant, which has been open since at least 2012.
The restaurant is still open in New Orleans.
The DeBarge’s website listed their business as closed in January 2018, and the DeBerry’s website lists the restaurant as closed on January 6.
The Associated Press reported that the restaurant’s website and Facebook page show it has reopened.
