New Delhi’s maine restaurant, Breckenberry, opens in New Delhi
New Delhi: The city’s mainstay restaurant Breck and Son, a favourite among the city’s rich and famous, has opened a restaurant in the capital’s new city center.
The restaurant, called Breck’s Maine, has been built by the firm Breckeningridge and is expected to open this month, said owner and chef Ravi Bhattacharya.
The Breck & Son restaurant, which is located in the old St Thomas Hospital in New Town, has the capacity of 500 people, he said.
The restaurant will be the third restaurant in New York City to open in the city, following New York’s Boulud’s and the famed restaurant of the same name in New Orleans.
Bhattachary, a well-known chef and restaurateur in the US, said the maine was named after his father’s grandfather.
He also said the restaurant was meant to reflect the many facets of the Breck family’s cuisine.
“It is a celebration of the city of New Delhi,” he said, adding that the restaurant would offer more than just a meal.
