How to Be Like Anna Nicole Smith without breaking the law
A former Disney executive has launched a campaign to help people like Anna Nicole, a model who became famous for her controversial clothing line, avoid criminal charges by paying off her alleged abuser, according to ABC News.
The campaign, which is being dubbed “Anna Nicole: No Crime, No Crime” and which has raised over $3 million so far, includes a series of social media posts from people like former Disney employee Anna Eisley, who left the company in 2008 after being accused of domestic violence by Nicole.
Anna Eisler was charged with first-degree assault in 2009 after an argument between Nicole and her then-boyfriend broke out outside of a Beverly Hills hotel room, where the two reportedly became involved in an altercation.
According to ABC, Nicole was released from custody and eventually paid off Eisleys abuser, a man she met through her modeling career.
She also has a long-running relationship with her former boss, John Deere, who reportedly owns the Beverly Hills mansion that was allegedly used in the alleged assault.
Eisley told ABC News that while she did not have a criminal record in the 1990s, she was aware of the risk of her personal information being exposed if her identity were revealed.
Eisles experience with domestic violence is something that she has dealt with for a long time and she does not think it was necessary for her to go public.
“It’s very hard to get justice for a woman who has been raped, so it makes sense to make sure that there’s no chance of it ever happening,” she said.
“I think it would be very easy to put her name out there.
It’s easy to say, ‘I didn’t do anything wrong,’ or, ‘No one else did anything,’ and it’s easy for her family to say it’s not true,” Eislyn added.
“I think there’s a lot of people who can see her name and know what happened and know that it was done.”
According to the ABC report, Eislers experience with sexual assault is a story that has been told before, but that the way Nicole and Deere have handled the issue has been “horrific” for many people, including victims.
“People feel like this is their business, and that they should be the judge of their own bodies,” she added.
“It would be easy for someone to call this a hoax, but I think there are many people who have suffered enough,” Einley said.
“It’s not something that I’m proud of.
I don’t think I would ever want to be in that position.”
Nicole and Deberes ex-boyfriends have denied any involvement in the assault, and Deisere has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.
The former Disney CEO was arrested in 2008 and charged with domestic abuse.
She was later released after posting a $1 million bond and agreed to testify in court against her alleged abusers.
Eislley said she believes the campaign is important because it is a reminder to people that there is still a way to fight for women’s rights, even if they are on the wrong side of the law.
“People don’t believe that they are doing anything wrong when they feel like there’s an accusation,” she told ABC.
“They’re just trying to figure out how to make themselves feel better, which I think is incredibly important.”
Nicola has spoken out about the campaign on several occasions, and is hoping to launch the campaign in the next few weeks.
